This course consists of three mandatory units with the following learning outcomes:

Unit 201 - Carry out Maintenance of Chainsaw and Cutting System

• Be able to work safely

• Be able to carry out operational chainsaw checks

• Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice

• Know how to carry out maintenance of chainsaw and cutting system

Unit 202 - Cross-cut Timber Using a Chainsaw

• Be able to work safely

• Be able to cross-cut timber using a chainsaw

• Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice

• Know how to cross-cut timber using a chainsaw

Unit 203 - Fell and Process Trees Using a Chainsaw

• Be able to work safely

• Be able to fell and process trees up to 380mm

• Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice

• Know how to fell and process trees up to 380mm

• Know how to remove branches from felled trees using a chainsaw

• Know how to take down hung up trees

Times: 9.00am - 4.00pm

Equipment Required: Chainsaw Boots, Chainsaw Trousers, Helmet with Visor and Ear Defenders, Chainsaw with maximum 15 inch guide bar, Sharpening Kit with Plug Spanner, Suitable Waterproof Clothing, Chainsaw Gloves - Please contact us if any of the listed equipment is not available to you as we can provide some items.
